西窗下，

風搖翠竹，

疑是故人來。

 

 

Wind as Speech

 

Beneath the western window,

the breeze stirs emerald bamboo;

and lo—

I almost deem it a long-lost friend returned.

 

 

風過ぎ語るごとし

 

西の窓、

風や青竹、

故人影。
