Tides rise and sink,
fins sweep and tails sway.
A single tusk cuts the darkness,
bubbles scattering faint light.
We ask the world:
what is art?
Algorithms surge,
all forms can be imitated.
Angles and tusks
may be rendered true to life;
yet heart and spirit
still require the sincerity of the human hand.
The stroke of art
is like a narwhal’s swim.
Simple in motion,
yet reaching for distance.
A body left in blankness
to shelter the soul.
Pulses breaking and joining,
breaths between presence and absence—
these are the poems within the image.
When waves rise then fall,
may one human stroke remain,
like the tusk of the narwhal,
slowly rising,
pointing toward the light.

潮は満ちては沈み、
鰭はひらめき、尾はゆるやかに揺れる。
長き牙は闇を裂き、
泡はほのかな光を散らす。
世に問う。
芸術とは何か。

毫も違わず描けよう。
