住在凡間，
欲尋天梯。
捫參歷井，
把酒問月。
三臺在東，
層層如階。
既似登天的著力點，
又像回首的喘息處。
攀至高處，
風在說著穹蒼之高；
望向遠方，
雲在寫著宇宙之大。
山縱然高，
但也不比天高，
不比心高。
原來，
不必攀山。
人望高處時，
心便走到比山更高的地方。

Three-Tiered Peaks
.
Dwelling among mortals,
I seek a ladder to the heavens.
Climbing so high my hands could brush the stars of Shen and Jing,
I raise my cup and ask the moon.
In the east,
three tiers of mountains rise like steps.
They are footholds for ascending skyward,
and resting breaths for looking back.
Reaching the heights,
the wind speaks of the loftiness of the firmament;
gazing afar,
the clouds write of the vastness of the cosmos.
High as mountains are,
they rise no higher than the sky,
and never higher than the heart.
And so,
there is no need to climb.
For when one looks upward,
the heart walks to a place
higher than any mountain.
翠を重ねる三つの臺
凡に住み、
天への梯を求める。
参宿と井宿の星にまで手が届き、
月に盃をささげて問う。
東に三つの臺、
層々として階のごとし。
天へ登るための力点でもあり、
ふり返るための息継ぎでもある。
高みに至れば、
風は蒼穹の高さを語り、
遠くを望めば、
雲は宇宙の広さを書きしるす。
山は高くとも、
天ほど高くはなく、
心ほど高くもない。
そうか、
山に登る必要はない。
人がただ高みを望むとき、
心は山より高いところへ
すでに歩み出しているのだ。
