The alms staff rings,
and the Dharma crown shines clear.
With a single earnest heart
he shelters this wandering body,
and with this very body
he crosses a thousand miles.
Unhurried, unafraid,
letting the wind walk beside him,
letting the drifting sand show the way.
Step by step,
his great vow became the real,
and the real unfolded into legend.
安らぎの行
錫杖はりんと鳴り、
法冠は清らかに光る。
一念の心で身を護り、
この身ひとつで万里を渡る。
急がず、恐れず、
風の声を友とし、
砂塵を道しるべとする。
一歩、また一歩。
大願は実となり、
実はやがて伝承へと変わってゆく。
